Gillian Fahlsing, Senior Assistant City Attorney Aurora City Attorney’s Office Civil Division – Litigation Unit Gillian enjoys her position as a Senior Assistant City Attorney with the City of Aurora, Colorado, where she works in the Litigation Unit for the Civil Division. Her cases primarily focus on the defense of civil rights and torts claims brought against the City of Aurora and its sworn members of the Aurora Police Department. She has also handled other employment related litigation matters and miscellaneous cases brought against the City. The majority of Gillian’s litigation practice is in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, although with the passage of C.R.S. § 13-21-131, the Law Enforcement Integrity Act, her practice now encompasses more state claims and cases brought in Colorado state court. Gillian has focused her practice mainly in the civil defense realm, practicing for 20+ years, with emphasis on defending municipalities and their employees for civil rights and employment related matters. Gillian began her legal career in private practice, where she remained for approximately 13 years before she transitioned into public service roles where she worked directly with law enforcement entities. Gillian enjoys spending time with her daughter, running, cooking, and reading. | |||
