Attendees can except to learn about the increasing exposure of third party claims and malpractice claims from institutional and insurance company clients. In today’s increasingly transactional culture, defense attorneys’ exposures have increased greatly. The CLE will address client communication strategies and other legal risk management topics to reduce the possibility of being sued for legal malpractice. The CLE will also address Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct Rules: 1.1, 1.2 (a) Scope and Objective of Representation, 1.4 (a) Communication and 1.5 (a) Fees. In addition, Formal Ethics Option 113 will be discussed. An interactive discussion around the Tri-Partite relationship will be presented along with recent CO Supreme Court Case Opinions on strict privity and standing: Bewley v Semler, and Baker v Wood Ris & Hames, P.C.
